Where Real Negotiation Stories Come to Life
Learn how negotiation actually works — by seeing what happened, why it mattered, and what people took away.
Negotiation Stories is a free, members-only community where people share real experiences from work and everyday life.
Members unpack what happened, what worked, what didn’t, and what they learned.
This isn’t theory.
It’s negotiation in context — under pressure, with consequences.
Not a course.
Not a lecture.
A community built around real stories.

Why Stories Matter in Negotiation
Because real negotiations don’t unfold like advice columns.
Frameworks matter — but judgment matters more, especially when emotion, timing, and power dynamics collide.
Negotiations move quickly. Lessons are often missed.
Stories carry context and consequence. They help us recognize patterns and respond more effectively the next time.
Think about your last negotiation that didn’t go as planned.
What surprised you? What would you do differently now?
Negotiation Stories gives you a place to reflect, learn from others, and strengthen your judgment for what comes next.

Your Stories. Your Control.
Shared for learning, not for data or research
You retain ownership of your story. Nothing shared here is used for research, training, publication, or any external purpose without your explicit permission. This is a learning community, not a data source.
Share responsibly. Protect confidentiality. The platform is actively moderated.

Join the Conversation
Negotiation shapes our work, our leadership, and our everyday lives — yet we rarely talk about how it truly unfolds.
Negotiation Stories is a free place to reflect, share real experiences, and learn alongside others who care about handling difficult conversations well.
No expertise required.
No perfect outcomes needed.
Just a real experience — and a willingness to learn.

About the Creator
Grounded in decades of real-world negotiation practice
Negotiation Stories was created by Joshua N. Weiss, an internationally recognized negotiation and conflict resolution expert, educator, mediator, and author. After decades of working with organizations, governments, and institutions around the world, Josh recognized that some of the most powerful negotiation lessons emerge not from frameworks alone, but from lived experience—what people actually encounter before, during, and after difficult conversations. He created Negotiation Stories to provide a dedicated space for those experiences to be shared, explored, and learned from in a thoughtful, accessible way.
In this community, Josh serves as the creator and curator of the space—setting the tone, guiding the vision, and supporting meaningful dialogue—while the stories and insights themselves come from the members who bring this platform to life.
