Where Real Negotiation Stories Come to Life
Learn how negotiation actually works—by seeing what happened, why it mattered, and what people took away.
Negotiation Stories is a free, members-only learning community where people share real negotiation experiences from work, organizations, and everyday life. Members explore the dynamics behind these moments—what worked, what didn’t, what surprised them—and reflect on the lessons that emerged.

By reading and contributing stories, you gain practical insight into negotiation as it truly unfolds: in context, under pressure, and with real consequences.
This is not a course.
This is not a lecture.
It’s learning through real stories—shared, discussed, and understood together.

Why Stories Matter in Negotiation
Because real negotiations don’t unfold like advice columns.
Most negotiators already know the frameworks and best practices. The challenge is applying judgment in real moments—when emotions, timing, power dynamics, and uncertainty collide.

Negotiations today move faster and in more complex environments. There’s rarely time to pause and learn from what went wrong before the next negotiation begins. Valuable lessons are often missed or relearned the hard way.
Stories change how we learn.

Stories carry context, emotion, and consequence. They help negotiators recognize patterns, remember lessons, and respond more effectively when similar situations arise again.

Negotiation Stories exists to make learning from experience easier and more human. By sharing real negotiation moments and reflecting on what actually happened, members gain insight that abstract advice alone can’t provide.
Think about your last negotiation that didn’t go as planned.
What surprised you? What would you do differently now?

Negotiation Stories gives you a place to reflect, learn from others, and turn experience into better judgment for the next negotiation.

Your Stories. Your Control.

About the Creator
Grounded in decades of real-world negotiation practice
Negotiation Stories was created by Joshua N. Weiss, an internationally recognized negotiation and conflict resolution expert, educator, mediator, and author. After decades of working with organizations, governments, and institutions around the world, Josh recognized that some of the most powerful negotiation lessons emerge not from frameworks alone, but from lived experience—what people actually encounter before, during, and after difficult conversations. He created Negotiation Stories to provide a dedicated space for those experiences to be shared, explored, and learned from in a thoughtful, accessible way.
In this community, Josh serves as the creator and curator of the space—setting the tone, guiding the vision, and supporting meaningful dialogue—while the stories and insights themselves come from the members who bring this platform to life.
